instrument cluster, e;ectronic?

Recommended Posts

I had my 87 gl-10 engine completely rebuilded and now Ihave to get some instruments in it. I have a electronic dash and the tach, the gas guage, and I don't know about the idiots lights don't work. The trip meter to be good for the clock. The car image works and the speedo works. Anybody know a fix?

If you do a dash change you will need to get a new fuel level sender. Also you will need to change the oil pressure sender. And since you will have it torn apart it cant hurt to replace the bulbs in the new dash. I did my dash swap a month ago.

Did mine a couple of years ago. It's a bit of a pain... But worth it! I hated that digi-dash! The previous model looked so much better - cool layout and orange color! I thought about swapping one of those in, but they are quite temperamental - fry very easily - so I went with an analog. I did use orange bulbs to light the dash, and put tiny LED's behind the needles to give them a red glow. It didn't turn out quite as well as I would have liked, but it's good enough. My on-line pics have disappeared (probably the results of a server change when the old one done blowed up) I'll post some picks tonight.
