GLwagonlove
So I am leaking coolant out of my water pump. I think the bearings are going bad. It leaks about a 5 by 5 spot about every time I park it now, and it seems to be getting a little worse every week. It is not making any bad sounds, or anything, yet... I store my car (85 GL Wagon 4wd) during the months of May, June, July, and August because I drive my Jeep during the summer. So can this wait until next Sept? I drive it everyday from Foco to Loveland for work (about 20-25 minutes each way) at highway speed. So I got about a month until I park it... is this a big deal, or can I wait? Thank you for your thoughts!
tractor pole
In my experience waiting only makes it worse, fixing it is easier than getting stranded and paying for a tow and potentially missing work. I mean you will have to fix it anyway.
Flowmastered87GL
The part is actually pretty cheap. And only takes afew hours to swap it out. Do it now and get it over with. Wait too long and you may go dry on coolant, overheat and eat your head gaskets :-\
BRP tourer
Over the years working as a mechanic I have seen many water pumps leak a little for a while, then suddenly puke everything out without warning. I would change it ASAP if it is leaking.

Vegablade
Check your timing belts while your down there. If they seem warn replace them too, might as well while you got things apart, heck i would replace them regardless of condition.
GLwagonlove
That's a great idea! Because it would be a pain to get to them again... Thanks
