Pooparu
Working on getting a baja style tailgate built for it. I'll post some photos up after I get that installed.
Pooparu
Bill and I just dropped this little baby into the BRAT: Its a 3.9 XT6 R&P, RX gear set, 1.59:1 low range gears in an RX case with FT4WD and diff lock. It pretty much rocks Edited July 15, 2013 by Pooparu
Pooparu
The only thing that kind of sucks about installing the transmission is that we had to kill the smoke stacks for now. I'll have to build them again later.
The Beast I Drive
The only thing that kind of sucks about installing the transmission is that we had to kill the smoke stacks for now. I'll have to build them again later. Yeah, that part sucked, but after 24 hours of continuous working, it was just when the pipes hit the tailsection. Never even considered the FT4WD tailhousing wouldn't hit the pipes... Great lessons learned from this project though -Bill
Pooparu
Yes indeed. That was one long messed up build. I was talking out loud to nobody on my ride home. I was super loopy. Yeah, that part sucked, but after 24 hours of continuous working, it was just when the pipes hit the tailsection. Never even considered the FT4WD tailhousing wouldn't hit the pipes... BratRod
Will you be selling the power-steering setup?
Pooparu
No, I'm going to clean it up and install it into my BRAT.
BratRod
Ahh, I thought you pulled it from your Brat. I figured that's why it was dirty
Pooparu
Interesting roadblock today. I'm using ARP head studs for my build and here's what happened: Too darn short. Anyone ran into this before?
Pooparu
Sooooo.... from what I can tell there is a difference in length on head bolts on the EJ DOHC & the EJ SOHC heads. I have head bolts for the DOHC heads and since the EJ22 uses a SOHC head you need to get longer head bolts.
O.C.D.
Bummer about the studs! Nothing like a fun little snag when you are all amped. With that setup and cams what are ya thinking for output? 220ish?
Pooparu
Hoping for at least 190 - 205 range (crank)
