Kostamojen
I've been looking into skid plates, want to do something more "serious" down the line but didn't want to spend the money right now. So I was at Pick'n'pull today and found a '83 GL wagon with a cool little chrome brush bar and an intact skidpan that I figured I'd try on my Impreza... Turns out they worked like a charm Just took drilling some new holes for the front, but the rear holes at the subframe fit just perfect: This is the model of scoob it came off of:
bheinen74
or on a 94 legacy sport....i never thought about the chrome bar, i have some of those laying around too. I used existing holes in the car in all 5 mount locations, had to drill 3 holes in the front of the skid, and bend it a little more in a vice to curve the front up. 1982gl4
I just did that with my 92 lego wagon last week. Works like a charm! It came pretty close to my oil pan though because I have the larger 2.5 on on it.
Kostamojen
Ya, it does work well. I didn't drill the chassis though, just the pan/bar. I might "expand" the pan to the sides with a couple extra pieces too, shouldn't be too hard. Another pic from today:
