MaddCelt
I am getting ready to work on restoring the shine on the Wagon and have a question. I will be using rubbing compound and do not know if it can/should be used on the lower half. Is the entire lower half a cover or is it paint with a pin stripe above? ShawnW
Try a claybar kit instead of the rubbing compound. Im honestly not sure on the bottom, I think its paint with a ribbon of pinstripe above but I never looked that closely.
Fairtax4me
I always thought the bottom was just a vinyl sticker. Not a big deal either way though. I wouldn't even bother with the compound on the bottom. Just clean and wax it.
johnceggleston
there is a vinyl ''decal'' strip that runs the lenght of the car. it is the same width the whole way, just like over the wheel wells. and is mounted just above the ''rubber / plastic'' door molding. every thing below the molding is paint. MaddCelt
After looking over the Wagon, I found that the lower half is not paint. It is a heavy colored cover. In one place where it had been scratched off you can see the red under it.
