CrownLoyale93
I have noticed a clicking sound near the throttle body on my EA82 SPFI. I am familiar with the TOD and that is not the sound I am hearing. It is more like the click sound you would hear from relay or solenoid being engaged on and off rapidly. Additionally the frequency of the clicking increases and decreases with RPM. Other than the clicking sound the engine runs smooth. I have had carbureted Subaru’s in the past but this is my first fuel injected one. I have looked at a couple of diagrams from the FSM and noted that there are a couple of solenoids in that area, maybe the injector itself, or is this normal with SPFI engines? Caboobaroo
Its the injector pulsing. Basically the click is coming from the injector turning on and off. Totally normal on any fuel injected vehicle.
