torxxx
in the process of ripping my car all apart today chasing heater blower motor wires, I messed my head light switch up when I took the plastic off the steering column. Now my both filaments (high and low) are stuck on together when they should be on low beam. High beam is high beam. So now I'm driving around with high beams and even brighter high beams. I noticed the screws for the plastic go into the bottom of the highbeam/blinker switch. Has anyone else had problems like the ones I'm having? And has anyone ever rewired the highbeam switch to a 3 way toggle switch? I'm wondering what wires I would have to splice into? thanks guys
myossfeece
the headlight circuit grounds through the switch so if it's messed up that is probably why. As far as the toggle switch goes I am all for that idea! put a volt meter on the back of the headlight switch with the lights on in low and high beams and that should give you some idea of what wire(s) to use for accessory. you can use the battery for power but you will have to manualy shut off the lights every time they are turned on. I would suggest useing something from the fuse panel (stock fuse for headlight), which will let the lights be on only in the run position. Or use the radio or some other accessory fuse which will let the lights be on in the run or acc. position, but will go off with the key regardless of the switch position. It will help preserve your battery on those drunken nights when you forgot to turn them off. j/k keep us posted

northguy
Torxxx, that explains why I missed you in Fairbanks this weekend. I had the Brat there and it ran great, even in the -28 on Friday morning. Good luck with the wiring- hope to see you in April for the lift session.

northguy
BWM's wagon is in a state of being stripped to build a new one. He's looking for a replacement now that he's got all of the components to put together his dream machine. Let us know if you're headed this way and we'll throw together a meet and greet.
