eppoh
I need to move my 97 automatic lego, about a mile. Is it okay to pull it with a strap with the AWD fuse installed/ The only thing is the radiator is out and the transmission cooler lines are disconnected, so will the tranny turn and pump the fluid out? Does the key need to be on with the AWD fuse installed to keep the rear diff off?
idosubaru
connect the two trans lines together if fluid does move. use an old rad and cut one of the tubes off of it and put one hose on each end. i've always left the car running with the fuse installed to be sure since it all works under hydraulic pressure. theoretically i suppose with the fuse in place the solenoid may be activating as needed. if it really is just a mile, i wouldn't be too worried about it either way. MilesFox
the fwd fuse is not necessary to flat tow. Generally, the car should be running in neutral if you tow with any automatic. If the distance is only a mile, you will be ok. keep the speed about 30 mph and no foul.

987687
It's in FWD anyway when the engine is off because there's no pressure to engage the clutches. So the fuse doesn't matter.
