sario Posted May 23, 2011 Share Posted May 23, 2011 Does anyone know what alternator bearing a 97 legacy uses? If it matters, the alternator was replaced during a recall about 12 years ago. I know there’s a good chance the rectifier bridge will fail before the bearing does, but i figured i might as well do it since i replaced the idler bearing and PS bearing. hohieu Posted May 23, 2011 Share Posted May 23, 2011 It's a 6303 double sealed ball bearing with the following dimensions: 17mm ID x 47mm OD x 14mm W If there's no play, I might just pop the seals off and regrease the bearing. Also, replace your belts when they get hard and squeal instead of tightening the hell out of them and blowing all the accesory bearings.
