thekelby
I just ran into a problem. I have an 88 GL Coupe and now the passenger side power window will not move up or down it doesn't even make an attempt to move, what could possibly be the problem, and is there a way to fix it? Thanks - KB
ruparts
hi, a lot of times the switches give problems on the 85-89 cars. if you can remove the door panel you can jumper 12v to the motor to determine if its the motor mechanism , or switch related. also the tracks need to be lubricated while you are in there, i use white spray grease in the spray can using a piece of vacuum hose on the nozzle to reach in and spray the inside of the roller tracks. the individual switches can be disassembled and the contacts cleaned but its a tedious job but has worked for me several times when i had the same symptoms. if 12v and a ground directly to the motor does nothing , then you need another one. 987687
First thing I always check when I have issues with door electronics is the wiring into the door. Make sure none of the wires are frayed, broken, or shorted.
MilesFox
check the contacts on the switch. If one switch is unplugged, the rest wont work. But since you are posting in the retrofitting forum, the answer will be to convert to manual windows:lol:
