NameTaken
Hey all, I have bunch of unconnected wires in the drivers side well under the dash. Does anyone know if they are supposed to be disconnected, or what they are supposed to be connected to? Everything seems to work, though i dont hae a keyless entry system, and there is a box under the dash which says keyless entry etc. Here are some pics. Thanks! 1-3-2-4
first of all that's a mess.. you need to trace where it goes to and I can tell you that's not factory.. I've never seen any stock lin-line fuse on a Subaru.. and that 2nd picture is a fuse tap.
NameTaken
Tool of the under dash cover and traced the orange one back. It's a rats nest in there! I don't think it is even connected to anything. Anyone have a diagram of what the electrical system under the dash is supposed to look like? http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5143/5846699606_a6a2c3e88a_z.jpg

WOuld it be easy to get a keyless entry system/remote start hooked up if the box is already in th ecar? and why would there be a wire goign from nowhere to noiwhere with a fuse in it? MilesFox
It was probably disabled due to a lost key fob. Or it could have been disabled due to it being armed from disconnecting the battery. Somewhere there should be a reset switch near the hood latch. I have thought of retrofitting one into my 86 GL, since it pligs in-line with the ign swithc form the key, and has the same plug
NameTaken
Yep, there's a little black button underneath. So, the red and orange wires with the in line fuses can be hooked up to the keyless entry system box somehow?
NameTaken
Would a Haynes manual explain the location and purpose of all the under dash wires/plugs? And, if so, where can I buy one?
