Mrcool
I've got a 93 legacy turbo that won't start. I'm not getting any power to the fuel pump, and it seems this is because the fuel pump relay won't fire. The problem is if I take the relay off it still clicks when I test it on the battery, and if I jump the post 1-3 the fuel pump turns on. Engine cranks fine and everything as well. Any suggestions on what might cause the relay not to fire?
Cougar
Looking at some data it shows a lite green/black wire ties to the control side of the relay coil. You should be able to tie that point to ground to turn on the pump. If that test works then the ECU isn't providing a ground to turn on the relay. The ECUs sometimes fail in that mode. Make sure the ignition system is firing. If it isn't firing the plugs the ECU will shut the pump circuit down. Pin 1 on the relay socket ties to fused power and should be a yellow wire. Mrcool
I'll try and ground out that wire and see if I can get the pump to kick on, I should also add that I took the MAF sensor off to see if I could get a check engine light to come one with no luck. Hopefully the ECU isn't dead!
