yesyeah Posted June 27, 2011 Share Posted June 27, 2011 Hey all - in need of new struts. The front ones are apparently REALLY bad, but going to do all 4 and get them over with. Can someone in the know help me confirm part #'s for Monroe strut assemblies and strut mounts? 1999 Legacy wagon 2.2 There seem to be a million choices (without air suspension, etc). I have ABS if that helps. Trying to order the correct ones w/o issues. There is a sale on Monroe struts near me and I'd like to get them before that goes away. Thanks SO MUCH in advance! Rooster2 Posted June 28, 2011 Share Posted June 28, 2011 Given a choice, I would buy KYB struts, vs Monroes. KYBs are reasonably priced, last a good long while, a little stiffer then OEM. My experience with Monroes goes way back. Quality and longevity weren't good then. Just my 2 cents worth of opinion, for what it is worth. I'd get a set of struts out of a junkyard car long before I paid good money for Monroe's. If you're going to spend the money on new parts get KYB. Strut mounts generally don't need to be replaced.
