There should be a identification label with a part number on it to use as a reference. I have worked on a couple of these that had fuel pump circuit problems. The same transistor went out in both of them.

Problem is that i dont know what the deal is, i dont have the car in front of me at this point. But i wasnt getting power to the fuel pump or the disty.

There's an 89 Loyale in the upulit here now. Think it's a 2wd5mt. I could pick the ECU up for you this weekend if you like. They are pretty cheap and I would just need you to cover purchase and shipping if you are interested in it. Would get it in the mail Monday after work.

yeah anything 86-88 is a really quirky transition period for subarus.

 

it's EA82 right?

 

anyway - car-parts.com has a fairly extensive Engine Computer selection for that year, should be able to identify something there. takes some detective work, select what you want - if you see 15 listings of one part number and 4 of another - the one with 15 is usually what you need....if that makes any sense, or just match up the exact vehile/year/model/vin number/letter. some of the places delineate information well on there.
