immorion
I snapped some pics of my block after 'prepping' it for head gasket and head (fresh from Dan's Cylinder Head Co.). I'm ready to slap this baby back together, but as its my first time, I'd like to be validated... Please peek at these pics and point out anything I'm missing..... bstone
Did you finish reticulating the splines?
GeneralDisorder
That looks great. I always go over the gasket surfaces with a clean shop towel (the blue paper one's) and lacquer thinner and allow to dry immediately before gasket installation. Rpm90001
I also Agree also on the lacquer thinner. What did you use to clean the surface? The picture shows a lot of scratches, sandpaper marks? Looks nice and clean. I spent what seems like hrs cleaning mine. I used a green scotch bright soaked I wd-40 and plastic razor blades then lacquer thinner before assembly. Clean is the key!
