one eye
Not sure if this is the right spot but.......................... here it is Ive had an 87 GL10 Turbo Wagon for about 7 years or so, My buddy took it to WCSS7 and sorta flipped it and messed it up pretty good, its been down at my Parents house for years with a Blown HG, so I figured I wanna place to sleep and put my tools while wheeling, so Im making an 87 GL10 Camper............. I dont have to many pics of it or really know if it is going to work but its fun doing somthing other than a HG job................ Here is what it is so far......... I had to raise the hitch up quite a bit since I will be pulling it with my 8" lifted Wagon............... Jeff

92_rugby_subie
Thats pretty awesome I had this kinda idea awhile back, but I was thinking of doing a 2 inch lift and better tires and trying to figure out how to get it to have its own braking system so that it could go "anywhere" Hope to someday see this camped out somewhere! The Dude Abides
I duno man i would of left all 4 wheels on it. That way its supported to the ground better and you woulf of only needed a permanent tow setup to the front wheels. You would of lost plenty of weight loseing the engine, tranny and most of the interior. Also you could of put a sweet grill setup under the hood where the engine used to be. tallwelder81
thats pretty sweet, dude. i woulda went with a brat, myself. seems more obvious, but maybe that is what makes YOUR project even cooler. brat is just, you know, less weight, and itd be one solid unit, instead of all the side doors creating flex. plus it already has a bed, instead of being originally designed for passenger seats, armrests, footwells, etc. or was that part of the appeal, actually hauling passengers sitting upright? is it for laying down sleeping, and hauling camping gear, or what? are you planning on doing the empty, rough firewall/engine bay area in sheet metal, or fiberglass, or what? i for one am very interested in seeing this progress over time. i know you have a history of fabricating stuff and making it work well. if you can also make it look good, thats even cooler, man good luck!!
