Phillip
I've grown to hate the cup holder in my '99 Legacy Outback Wagon; The buttons on my heater/AC controls and stereo are constantly gummed up by spilled drinks. Has anyone found a better cup holder that fits these cars? If so, where did you mount it?
FillG
I haven't found a better solution, but I'm looking for one too after this.
EOppegaard
I have a cupholder mounted on the hump in the back seat behind the center console. I picked it up from Wal-Mart for about $3, and it is one of the best investments I have ever made.
Commuter
I would think that would be a bit of a reach, to the rear seat transmission tunnel. You must have flexible arms. When this came up a couple of years ago, I know one person reported that they attached an aftermarket fold down cup holder to the passenger side of the shifter area. Seemed like a reasonable solution, and within decent reach. Commuter
FillG
I didn't think to mention it to you when I posted my first reply, but if you want to ungunk your heater controls and stereo, you can just take them out and hose 'em off, then let them dry out real good and reinstall them. I did it to mine and they're working good as new.
99obw
I seem to need to remove the cupholder assembly and wash it about once a year. I lube it up with dry graphite lube before I put it back in. Seems to prolong the inevitable.
