Well now that my subaru is finnaly im thinking about selling it because I dont know whats going to happen next with it and it took me 4 months to get this missfire fixed so i might as well get what i can get out of it Well yeah, but you know this devil now as compared to the demon you may buy to replace it! subie94 Posted September 11, 2011 Share Posted September 11, 2011 Try a lighter viscosity oil. 5/ 30 . Remember, the first number is the oils thickness at ambient temp. So, a 5 or 0 will flow much faster cold and quiet your engine. The second number 30 or 40 etc , is the thickness of the oil in a warmed up engine. I believe its measured at 212 deg. So, instead of going up in viscosity. Try going down. A thicker oil will just make the tap worst and last longer cool thanks..honestly wasn't sure which part of the number was the thickness..just assumed whole number was it.. payday,i'll have oil change done again (just received a 10% coupon from dealer) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
