jeryst
Someone recently mentioned to me that he thought that Subaru had made an engine with gear drives instead of timing belts. Does anyone know if that is true, and have any more information on them? I always thought that all Subaru engines had timing belts.

edrach
Thanks. Do you know what general years/models?EA81 1.8L engines; with the exception of the Hatch and Brat which used the EA81 engine until 1987, all the models up to 1984 used the EA81 engine. That's in the US market. I'm not sure about international models.
