Mykeys Toy
Title says it all how do you tell if there are no stickers on the valve covers for whatever reason? what would I be looking for with the covers off that would indicate such. Revision My 82/83 sedan is the noisiest engine in a sube I have ever had. I thought to adjust the valves but you don't adjust Hyd lifter motors and there are no stickers on the valve covers. I just dont want to screw it up by adjusting something not meant to be adjusted. GLCraig
When you pull off the valve covers there are a couple of things to look for. Look at the lock nut for the rocker arm adjustment. Hydro lifter engines will have locking tabs to keep the nut from backing loose. Look at the push rods. Hydro lifter engines push rods are steel. Solid lifter engines have aluminum push rods with a steel tip.
