86subieXT
Hey everyone. just signed up here. I have an 86 Subaru XT with some mild mods. Recently i ran into issue. Im reaching boost spikes at 10psi. because theres spikes it will hit the 11psi fuel cut. Ive read about the HKS FDC and it is a very good option however that just byp*********es the cut. not give it fuel past 11psi. The easy option would be an ECU chip with a remapped fuel base. But i dont think anyone has one. I have an AEM Fuel and ignition controller not being used right now and thinking about installing it on the XT. The AEM is a piggyback system and would have to be tied into the ECU. I believe the FIC is for an OBDII car. and im pretty sure the XT out dates OBDI. my main concern is tying the unit in with the EA82t's MAF. Does anybody here have experience with this? wiring diagrams, standalones, and another info is much appreciated.
Turbone
If you have the flapper door MAF, forget about doing this. If theres a way (there might be) to swap a 87+ ECU and hot wire MAF in, then theres hope.

eulogious
People have Squirted an RX before, and it works fine. But I haven't really heard of doing a piggy back, especially with the older gen's ecu. The new gen ECU can be reprogrammed, but it's a BIG project to do it. Goes up there with adding paddle shifters to it. It's doable, but not easy at all. http://www.alcyone.org.uk/ssm/ecumod.html But this is for the new gen stuff, not the old gen. I have not heard of anyone modding an older gen ecu...
