No Power to ignition on 94 loyale

Recommended Posts

Help please. Going nuts. I have power at the fusable link (white) but no power at the fuse box. Sometimes it will power and start. If I run a jumper wire from another point on the fuse box to the ignition or white wire input side of the fuse panel everything works. Is there a relay or something between the fusible link and the fuse box? Would it hurt to run new wire from fusble link to input side of fuse panel? Am I looking at this correctly? I have found no wiring diagrams, and following wires is difficult on these cars. Any toughts, ideas or solutions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. I took a test light with the point and checked for power on the output side and I was getting hots. I also bypassed the fusible links. It is hot on the engine compartment side. It is like a intermittent break but mostly dead. Is there a plug in connector that is loose I have not seen? Thanks again.

Hi. Thank you for the ideas. All that you mentioned checks out. The wire feeding the fuse panel is dead. About 8 inches from the fuse panel is a one wire to 2 wire factory splice to feed the panel. A this junction to after the fusible link I am thinking of just running a new wire. This should fix it. I just was not sure what was between fusible link and the wire feeding the fuse panel. Thanks again

Hopefully you have a test light probe at least to check the power with. If you don't have one I suggest you purchase one as they are very helpful in checking these kind of troubles.

The connection fault is most likely at the splice connection. Using a tester to check the splice connection would confirm that.

Thanks for the input. I ran new number 10awg wire from the fusable link to the ignition and fuse panel. Seems to work. I think the connection was bad in the harness where it spliced from ignition to the fuse box. I am now going to deal with its tick of death. Thanks again.

P.S. sorry to hear about 2.7 turbos car.
