Idle problem!

Featured Replies

Hi Guys!

My car has a problem with the idle. I do not know what happened last Monday at midnight, it was really coooold and raining (the first night of winter).

I stopped at the red light, then suddenly, when I put my foot on the paddle, the car was shaking and RPM is down, check engine light is "ON" with cruise light flashing, white smoke from the exhausts plus it smells really bad...like gas is not burning very well.

my friend told me after he saw the car, it might be the IACV,

another friend said it might be the fuel pump.

what do you think guys?

I have searched the forum about that problem, but i have not get any decision about the problem!

Look at the video clip!

The RPM goes down as soon as I touch the paddle!

Welcome to USMB, abu3li. But you're in the wrong place!

Post your questions in the New Gen Forum and you'll get the help you need.

What code or codes did you get read? I don't think that year has an IACV, I think it has the drive by wire throttle where the ECU modulates the throttle for idle. I think there were quite a number of ECU reflashes for those years so it might need an update and reboot.

The check engine light indicates a fault - have the codes read and it will, in all likelyhood, point you directly to the problem. Without any conjecture on our part.
