They are really hard to find, but a board member here (forgot who atm) has one on his hatchback.

Is there a build thread on that hatch?

I have one for a first generation Subaru, and if I can successfully recreate mine then I might know of someone who has a second generation one that might let me borrow it to recreate it too. We'll see this summer though. :brow:

Yeah, there's two bikes back there, three people in the car, about 800 pounds in the trunk and another 400 pounds on the luggage rack and roof. It was bottomed out the entire drive. Now my back suspension is shot and I slide around on the highway over the tiniest bumps :) lol. It's a blast in the rain.

Still trying to get the models correct. The red wagon parked by the water. Is that a 1st Gen Legacy?

Bill

That would a be a second gen legacy. Looks like a 97ish GT wagon. Looks like it has quite a bit of mods judging by the brembos and bbs wheels :burnout:

This is a first gen legacy (mine to be exact :brow: )

The rally car above is also a first gen legacy sedan.

Too add to the old gen awesomeness I found a pic of my car on google maps :D

I've had the google car drive by me twice before, and not been on the google maps. x( They either don't update very often here, or they don't like me.

Back in the Early 1980's, Subaru developed a High Performance, Racing Version of their Twin Carb EA81S (S = Sport, means Reversed Valves) engine; that instead of twin Hitachi carburetors on a single intake manifold, featured twin Weber carburetors, each one mounted directly over each Head, to improve performance. They Tested that EA81S with Factory Twin Webers on the Safari Rally.

Let me share some photos of it with you:

Closer View of the Engine in that Pic, look at the "S" letter on the Valve Covers:

Seems like That engine was Tested in a Hatchback too:

Some of the Subarus prepared for the Safari Rally, that featured Twin Weber Carburetors' on their EA81S engines from factory, were sold as Subaru Leone RX in Japan and also in New Zealand, where I found one for sale, online. (Then I found another one for sale, but in Japan)

Here's a Video of one of those especial Subaru Leone RX

with Twin Webers, Racing in the Safari Rally:

At time 12:34 you can see the twin webers ... ;) ... Kind Regards.

► Edited to add the Video.

Heh, looks like the dual weber 44idfs they ran on VW engines. What a pain they are to sync.
