Hocrest
I'm in the middle of swapping our 2003 Baja from AT to MT. I have the MT crossmember from a Legacy and it seems like I need some spacers between the crossmember and the frame?? Does anyone have a crossmember out of an Outback that they can get some pictures of?
Fairtax4me
You need the whole transmission cross member. Difference between AT and MT cross members can be seen here: http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b12/type_34/engine/engine_mounting/ AT: MT:
Hocrest
I have the MT crossmember from a legacy. I'm thinking/wondering if there is a difference between a Legacy and an OB crossmember??
Fairtax4me
Ah OK gotcha. Part numbers are different, which means there must be some difference. Must be that the cross member pieces are taller for OB and Baja models. You could probably get by with 1" spacers and longer bolts if you can't find the proper cross members. Hocrest
I measured where the tailshaft on the 4EAT would have been and calculated that I needed to drop the legacy crossmember about 5/8". I used a couple of large nuts for the front and some square steel tubing for the rear...
