sounds like you just need to figure out a few quirks and its ready to go:headbang: we got the loyale going after it sat 4 years just need to figure out some stuff on it and its ready to sell because it already passed deq(its going to get a dual range in it if the tranny doesn't starting shifting better).

didn't look for a ej but maybe a senior project in the future:brow:last weekend went in looked at the list on the clipboard of what came in and it said a 96 came in. but didn't go in because they didn't get anything older in like brats, loyales, gls, and dls.

or hands so you can work on things when you get injured. did you get stitches or is it not quite that bad?

Well it's bad and I'm cheap and don't like sewing haha... Little super glue, and duck tape haha. It's about 1" long and I think I saw my tendon.. Haha... Only saw it open as I pulled my glove off...

And for sure, I wishi had some hands on stand by! :)

Well had some time today after class to get back to her, got a new water pump gasket in, timed and back togeather. Drove it in the yard for a second, then heard a pissing noice.... I blew another power stearing line.. This one was a 3/8 400psi that the guy at napa said would work... Gah... Back to the drawing board! But she coming along, atleast I didn't hurt my self this time. Haha. *knock on wood*

well after a long long long amout of time not working on her.. i finnaly got back to it! i finished the power stearing line last week, i used the upper EJ hose and the lower elbo and made a sleave to weld them togeather worked great! AAAND i lowered the shifter linkage! i used a peice of 1.25" knureld stressproof and threaded it to 8x1.25 to screw on to the exsisting bolt. i can make more if any one wants one?? prolly 5-10$?

now i think i might want to exsted the shifter rod. but ill take it for a drive before i do that.

only have one more large thing to do, figure out the exhaust.. i could go with an all new system.. but that to spendy for me.. lol.

You're a clever guy - those Chinese gauges are crap.

If it was me I would have made a 'T' fitting to go in the block for idiot light switch & mechanical gauge tap. Mount a panel with a 270* sweep oil pres gauge & an idiot light in place of the clock.

Cant beat free though, and the oil psi seems to be pretty accurate. Of course i will prolly upgrade down the line. I plan to make an alluminum plate for that stop and mount my gages for reals with some light switches for the rack i want on it

well long time no post!

my axles wouldnt go into the hub so i for some new bearings for the front! man that was an easy job haha!

10410663_10203301943408367_4821938272773

i fabed up a bullitproof set of 4" rear brackets! turns out the ones i had on there were 3"!!! and putting these on was causing the tire to go into the fender to much so i also dropped the control arm bar 2" which makes the tire sit perfect in there! 10420221_10203435453626039_3792060086116

before 2" rear control arms bar drop, the shock is at a bad angle and its really close to the bump stop.

Fully flexed out

i got my D/R linkage hooked up and exstented so itd fit better and beable to go in an out of d/r haha.

10644823_10203534109972386_5613352622902

as far as the tranny above, my buddy blew his up so he needed it back haha.. so i got another one from my buddy ED for helping him with his remodel. BUT.... just a few min ago i was just getting to put some new oem subaru tranny oil in her and decided to drop what was left in there.... bam..... shes done... and i didnt even get to drive her with a D/R....

10419033_10203534043490724_5876971765790

its prolly a good thing ive had to do so much to this rig.. one thing after another... atleast i know when shes "done" shes be done... and make someone a good rig.... haha......

but my next thing is putting a ring from an EJ front diff in because it would see that itd be stronger. Lets see how this works... OR build an AWD D/R driff lock like pooperoo... haha

you must keep a matched set of ring and pinion gears.  Must use a set from a PT box.  AWD EJ pinion will not work.

the EJ ones are not any stronger than the EA. they are identical type ring and pinion gear only the length and diameter of the pinion shaft changed EA to EJ.

Yeah I found that out after reading up on it. One reason why I just put another ea dual range back in. This one has 180k but was owned by an older guy so she should hold up for much longer. Actually your build a while back is what I read, along with others though. Sad that didn't work for long. I'm tempted to build what Pooparoo has in his brat. That would be a beast!

Need to get my lathe so I can mod and build an unstoppable ej/ea tranny ;) lots of time and work but would be worth it in the long run. Haha.
