steven304
I'm going to be going to a junk yard to remove a core support out of an ea81. Its back in the woods so I'd like to know if anyones done it and has any advice or a guide anywhere?
idosubaru
i've seen folks mention EA81 support removal/installs. i have a new gen radiator support thread from earlier this summer on a legacy wagon that got a ton of very helpful replies - though i ended up repairing it with only the hood and fender, didn't need to do the core support stuff. but - i'd be finding that thread next time i have a core support to remove. you could try taking a cordless sawzall or sawzall with generator and cutting off more than you need - then properly de-spot-welding it or whatever when you get it back home. GeneralDisorder
Cordless sawzall - cut right in front of the strut towers. Do a proper spot-weld removal after you get it back to the shop. GD
MilesFox
Drill out the spotwelds. you can cut away at the top part just behind it, but the lower part may be easier to drill out the spot welds around the framerails, as it is a lot to cut through. A cordless saw will do more damage, but a drill would last longer with the battery. Bring good, sharp bits, hammer, and cold chisel
steven304
I just bought a cordless sawzall and drill so I will probably take both. I was just hoping that they were bolted on,
