kayoteq
Um, hi, sorry, I jumped over to vintage early because I had questions that needed answers, especially when dealing with 26yr old cars.. A roaming independent technician always out on random service calls, with a shop and access to many things of building. I'm here because I'm nutters. Just plunked down money I could have bought a repair-needing 98.. instead, got an escapee from Walkmans and Arcades, A 1985 Brat. 162k, power steering, never had a/c upgrade (and has the sticker to prove it) and generally intact, perhaps even garage-kept for some many a year. Here's Clyde working on the wheel bearing that turned into an replacement axle. At no extra charge, I looked at as a built-in discount of bonus free axle Somehow found it in a narrow 24 hour window and then kept contact till he fixed the axle (that caused him to take the listing down) and I drove it about, then the final gauntlet, a drive to another town to my fave mechanic who, after passing every external check, (before I committed to the purchase) said something I'd never heard before, 'if you don't get it, I will." Well, I like him, but..

PS was never produced from the land of fuji on them. Someone has added it. and we need more pics of this nice looking BRAT.
Turbone
Power steering was a option until 83, then it was standard on the turbo models. I have seen a few 82's with ps, even my lifted hatch had it. Thats a nice looking Brat. Edited November 8, 2011 by Turbone
kayoteq
Thankee.. feeling very lucky, even if this was just a nice wagon in this condition. Losing several regular Subies in the area to quicker responders motivated me.. to bite this one and not let go till I was filling out a title satisfied that a third party had at least looked at it and declared it safe for my use. Toolkit, hubcaps, am/fm radio, manual. Finding these, is positive. -zen Details over at the vintage thread.. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1056548#post1056548 The people, the staring! I didn't think about the staring.
