rt5nine
I have a 87 DL wagon that will not start. It seems the injector will not fire. I have checked the resistance on the injector and it is within specs. The manual says to check the harness side voltage with the key on, should be 12v to a good body ground. I get no voltage on either side. I have checked for continuity from the injector plug all the way to the control unit. Could the control unit be bad? Everything else checks out. Fuel pump, fuel filter, pressure to the throttle body, spark, timing, air flow meter. It will start with if you squirt starting fluid. I'm I missing something or should I try and locate a control unit. Thanks in advance for any help
MilesFox
Check fuse #5 as this supplies constant volts to the ecu. IF you are getting spark, the ecu should be alive somewhat. Have you checked the fuel pump relay? Plug the green test connectors to cycle the fuel pump circuit. the intake harness grounds to one of the intake bolts, check that. Cougar
Along with checking the fuses as MilesFox rightly suggested also check the ignition relay and the fusible links inside the box mounted on the coolant reservoir. Make sure they are making good connection and have voltage passing through them on both sides of the connection. Connection problems have been found on the bottom side of the box also.
