rverdoold
Did you see the new BRZ boxer, no have a look here. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-subaru-brz-live-reveal/med/#photo-4643870/ Compared to the new boxer the layout is completely different. The intake manifold is inverted. I do not see power steering pump so assume it is finally electric. Curious if there ever will be a AWD version comming
john40iowa
Are the two bars from the strut towers really for body rigidity? I thought those went out with the '70s. Sweet car though, and great color! Edited November 30, 2011 by john40iowa

Sweet car though, and great color! Yeah, someone should tell Subaru WRC teams that one... That engine looks like a *************** to work on in car. Let's hope it has reliable HGs, yeah? jarl
"Compared to the Impreza, the BRZ's engine is placed 120 mm lower and 240 mm further back". Oh my... engine underground?
Suzam
Since there is a rear drive transmission (and no transaxle) the engine can sit back and lower. There would be no room for AWD with this setup.

Fairtax4me
I will definitely be looking for these to hit the lot at the local dealer. Looks to small for me to fit in though.

Fairtax4me
No it has a conventional transmission and rear differential. A transaxle is a transmission and differential unit built together. Subaru's being AWD have front transaxle AND rear differential. The Corvette would have a rear transaxle unit.
