FWD swap questions?

New to forum, been peering into it for bits of information regarding anything involving early nineties Loyales and Legacies. Presently, I have a 92 Legacy FWD 4EAT sedan (2.2L, 117K) and a 93 Loyale 5MT (66K, 1.8L TBI model).

I've seen plenty of people use the transmission from the Loyale against the EJ22, usually based on simply having a donor car like in my case, and that the only parts I would have to buy is the EJ to EA adapter kit, and the clutch set for the EA transmission... Well, except for gauges and the like.

1) what other transmissions can be used like that without fabrications or modifications?

2) What else can I salvage off my Legacy to use on the Loyale to improve it, parts wise?

There might be other questions based on what answers I get from this, and I know everything about both cars. I've owned the Legacy for about 3 years, and the only reason I'm otherwise scrapping it is the tranny began to lose gears recently, and I'm not sure how easy or cost effective it is to fix that as opposed to just swapping it over.

Any input is appreciated, thanks! :)
