idosubaru
I covered the top of the caliper and the caliper boot with a cloth soaked in Evapo-Rust. so you don't spray or pour any of this stuff down the pin/caliper - you just cove rit with a soaked cloth and that's it? sounds too good to be true!?! is this stuff different than PB Blaster/Yield type products? seems like it is? heartless
a product we have recently started using is called "Freeze Off" - works pretty darn well IMHO. directions read something like this - spray rusted item for 10-20 seconds for maximum freeze action, then allow to sit for 1-2 minutes - tapping the item with a hammer or similar tool can speed up the process. I used it on the screws that held the electronic part of the IAC valve on - the car it came off of had been sitting for about 3 yrs - kinda nasty looking - thought for sure I was gonna have a hard time getting them out without stripping them - used this stuff, and they came off with no problem. I am thinking the heat lamp vaporized some of the Evapo-Rust. The molecules found there way to the rust to loosen up the pin.
