tractor pole
I installed my rear disk brakes for my five lug swap today. The passenger side backing plate looks correct with the caliper on the upper rear but the drivers side the caliper is on the bottom. Now is that just the way it is? or did I end up with two right side backing plate? it bolted up but I will have to make a new brake line to fit it in this position. I can take pictures in the morning if it would help. everything else fit perfectly... thanks if anyone has pictures of what its supposed to look like that would be great! Turbone
You have 2 right side backing plates.

Take both your right backing plates, bolt them together face to face through the caliper mounting holes because they should mirror each other (I think). Then, re-drill the pattern from one of the plates to the other one. If there is enough meat and the "dual pattern" doesn't overlap anywhere, you could make one of your rights into a left. This is all theory I'd have to look at one of mine to see if it is possible..... Pretty sure the difference is only in the 3 bolt holes in the middle of the plate.... Spencer I think that might actually work on those.

tractor pole
Soooo, what did you do with this?? I did exactly what you suggested, and it worked perfect! I uninstalled the backing plates, installed the plates outside face to outside face, then installed bolts through the caliper bolt holes and with the backing plate temporary installed on the axle shaft, then back drilled the mounting holes in the backing plate. then took my new six hole backing plate and installed it on the left side, just like it should be:grin: thanks to Spencer(obk25xt) for the idea:headbang: Ben
