SubaruSVXCrazy
I have a 86 4 speed duel range 4WD Brat with a bad frame. How plauseable is it to take at least that tranny and swap it into a 5 speed fulltime 4wd Loyale? The brats tranny would be great to would make a off road vehicle with a high-low range set up. its got 75k original on the car and Id like to make use of it. Btw im fully aware that theres a 5speed 4wd tranny from a 3rd gen leone but i have this 4speed 4wd laying around lol To sum it up, What customization would need to be done to fit a (2nd gen leone) 4spd 4wd transmission into a (3rd gen leone) 5speed awd chassis? GeneralDisorder
Custom trannsmission x-member and linkage plus a cobbled together clutch assortment that will make your head spin. Not worth it - the 4 speed's are junk. That's a huge step backwards. GD
Subafreak
Ah yes. I knew there was something complicated about it. Although if you sold that 4speed loyal later on down the road, it would definitely confuse somebody. Lol.

MilesFox
good news if you do find a dual range 5sod, it is a direct bolt in using your existing axle,driveshaft/clutch and mounting.
