muleman
How do you get the ignition switch out of a 79 Brat? Does anyone have a lock cylinder and keys for same?
78B.R.A.T.
It pops out from the back and you can slide out the part that the key turns then just use a flat head to turn it once its out of the tumbler. Thats what i did when I bought my brat that had the ignition locked in the on position. But if someone on the forum has a few tumblers or directions on how to dissassemble/replace it I'm in the same perdicament. i have tried penetrating lubricant and am looking at putting a universal ignition in where the cigarette lighter goes. Rockman
I used a screwdriver to start my 79 wagon for years. Anyhow, I've got a never been used ignition switch with keys if anyone is interested. Make me an offer I guess. It's about the last thing I have from my genII stuff besides some EA71 pistons. Rockman
78BRAT, here's a pic of the ignition. I sent you a PM with shipping. I'm 95% sure this is a 77-79 ignition switch. Manufaturer stamp is KANTO SEIKI. There's no part# but it's also stamped KV-13.
