nncoolg
Just wondering if anyone has used copper head gaskets on the EA's? with no one making metal head gaskets, maybe getting some copper ones made may be an option... I have never used them before and I'd be interested in getting some feedback...
GeneralDisorder
It's been tried - I assume you mean for the EA82T since that's the one with the HG problems. The rest do fine with composite. The few people that have tried it have said it's a pain in the rump roast. External leakage I think was the biggest complaint. And not anymore reliable. If you want one to hold a HG all you have to do is o-ring the block and put in ARP studs. GD
Turbone
I never had one leak or go out once I started using the gold spray on sealer. I just popped ring lands after that

Turbone
I believe most auto parts stores have it. I'll try and get a brand name etc.

Turbone
I believe it was Felpro, I think rockauto carries them. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=122485 Edited January 23, 2012 by Turbone
skishop69
Flat Out gaskets is the only one I know that carried the copper gaskets for the EA81. Last time I talked with them they no longer stocked them, but they still have the dies and will stamp out a set if requested. They were a very soft copper (alloy) if I remember right and didn't have an external leak issue.
