bheinen74
cancel. I won auction. but auction comes back says they denied my bid, even though i paid the deposit and was the only bidder, even though they had no reserve. tonight went back up to auction again. I bid again more than last time, and then 2 others jumped in on bidding. Someone from Penns and some one from New York, and they outbid me i couldnt live bid this time. Good luck to the new yorker, I bet you will see this car on ebay shortly. Edited January 31, 2012 by bheinen74
Red92
cancel. I won auction.but auction comes back says they denied my bid, even though i paid the deposit and was the only bidder, even though they had no reserve. Whoa... I was just looking at that exact car earlier today on Copart! http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e2s1&lotId=11338572 The sales status is listed as "On Approval"... which I looked up: On-Approval Vehicles. Vehicles sold "On-Approval" will not be released to Members unless and until the seller notifies Copart of its acceptance of the high bid. In some instances, it may take up to three working days, including the day of the sale, for the seller to provide Copart notification of high bid acceptance. However, the majority of "On- Approval" vehicles receive bid acceptance or rejection within one day. Seems like a sneaky way to put a hidden reserve on a car. :-\ What a bummer. How much did it sell for?
bheinen74
my first auction it sold to me for 375. then tonight on the copart is sold for 850. then fees. then shipping but yeah first auction on ridesafely i won it for 375 then they say sorry. not enough. then tnoght it goes back up and sells for 850 ( i bid 700 preauction) but cannot bid copart due to it had claen title, i can only bid salvage cause i am not a dealer. YET< very pissed i even tracked down the original and only owner who still has the keys, he lost his garage and donated it and didnt give them keys. said it runs like the day he bought it in 1984. never been out of texas ZERO rust anywhere. bheinen74
no worries. the last time i lost an auction on here was the 1994 SS. I bid 1600 and got beat by a 1750 bid. And the result of that auction is now I have the car as seen here. I had to buy it from the guy who outbid me and after he fixed the damage. oh well and i fixed that one too; put the RIGHT wheels back on and the RIGHT exhaust; can be seen now here also took off the stupid window front tint strip on windhshield, and got the car back to a straight front control arm etc. kid who i got it from after auction did the body work but he failed to do the front control arm sold it to me with a tacod control arm but sold as fixed lol. whatever, i remember bidding on the wrecked car knowind the control arm was bent back, and then the seller said it drove good lol. pull etc when bought from him he was sucky. I also installed mudflaps back on the car. drr, need them. you can see in the pics, i fixed my back deck FAIL from who i bought it from. It didnt' even have step railis when i bought it, i had to put them on the steps, also the rear deck was too hight for the storm door to open over in a snow, so had to lower the deck, and then finish puttin up railing. I hate people who do stuff wrong. Edited January 31, 2012 by bheinen74
bheinen74
does anyone else on here bid on these nice ones or am i the only one? I see people on here all the time asking for the nice clean low mile ones, but then they never want to pay what they go for. I do pay for what they go for and try to get more. If they are nice, i will try to buy them. do you try the same, or no. if they are nice and cheap, buy it, otherwise move along and complain that they are going for too much, maybe cause i am bidding that much. I won't touch or consider a car with more than 3 mods on it. that is the most i can tolerate, and that goes to the stereo even. It needs to be stock for me. Stock is reliable, replaceable, maintainable, with factory parts. otherwise, you are on your own to keep going.
The Dude Abides
To bad about the auction man, that was a nice one to say the least. Though it still might of been worth it at 900 bucks, you know how rare stuff like that is around here. What about your (OTHER) possible new project.
