zdriver123
I've read a whole bunch about lifting subarus here and the information has been invaluable, thanks guys! I just had a couple more questions about lifting my 84 wagon. I hear that axles don't last too long when you just put blocks under the front struts. From ehat i've found, it's because the angle causes the boots to either pop off or tear and then the bearings eat them selves from road debris. I come from the vw bug world where baja guys have been using empi boots on their half shafts for years with great success. I was wondering if this could be an option for me. The boots are of a better quality material and allow for more flex. I'm asking if this would be a good option as i want to change my boots before they do tear (car was sitting for 7 years and the old boots are a bit dry). Is this the only problem with those axles and lifts or are there more?

Is this the only problem with those axles and lifts or are there more? the EA81 axles have shorter and weaker cups , compared to a EA82 axle, the center shaft moves out farther if you just lift the strut making it work towards the end instead of towards the middle or bottom of cup, also bad moter mounts will cause axle issues,
zdriver123
Thanks for the advice Scott. Now I have to save up a little and order a front lift kit from you. All I want to do is level out the front end a bit, and maybe tighten the torsion bars a bit.
