gessner17
Hey all, I bought a Legacy back in June and as it got colder here in Iowa, it started making an awful noise when driving over 70mph. It seems to be the worst with a headwind or crosswind. It sounds to me like when you blow over the opening of a bottle. I know it's not engine or tranny related, I can coast in neutral and still loud. Anyone have any ideas? I've checked seals and front plastics and they all seem solid. Caboobaroo
One of the downfalls with the design Subaru went with on the doors and window frames. With more wind, it catches the top of the door and forces down past the seal, which is why it gets worse with a cross wind. The window frame acts as a scoop around the top. Just speculating.... gessner17
I've driven my buddies and his is exactly the same, no noise on his on the same road, same day.
hankosolder2
Isn't it under warranty? Take it to the dealer and let them sort it out. If they don't duplicate the fault, take them on a test drive with you, and if they claim it's normal, ask to drive another 2011 Legacy on the lot.
