The Dude Abides
So the family vehicle is going to get handed down to me or traded off for something else. I like subarus (duh) so im curious if anyone on here has had this situation. I have 3 kids all in booster seats. Can something like this fit in a Tribecca or an Outback? Im not worried about alot of cargo space because i hardly have that in the van i have now. Any one have any experience with putting 3 kids in booster seats in a newer subaru. MilesFox
most cars these days have the LATCH system, and modern child seats are designed to this standard. I am not sure what year they were mandated for manufacturer install. I havent loaded 3 childeren in the back of my 94 legacy, but we can fit 4 adults int he car along with one child seat without too much of a cramp. the legacy has more width room than the 98 forester the in-laws have. But we can fit in there without too much of a cramp the same. I would imagine the middle child seat would be the one most difficult to load in and out of. Put the youngest one in the middle and buckle/unbuckle him from between the front seats, i suppose. Tell subaru to bring back the 'way-back' seats in place of the smuggler's trunk, and put the spare tire back under the hood.

The Dude Abides
Because the kids are old enough they dont use the Latch system. They sit in booster seats to prop them up for the seatbelts. Problem is the boosters are wide so probally the size of a adult with a good size butt. It might be hard, and ive heard the 3rd row on a tribeca is the worst.
idosubaru
that's probably it, or one of them, but i've seen the most threads about this on Subaruoutback.org. while boosters vary less than car seats, it will be somewhat dependent on the equipment itself, they're not all the same shapes/sizes. take the booster seats with you to a Subaru dealer and try it out and see what happens. or someone else that has a newer Subaru as a starting point.
