Driving to work yesterday in the 88 gl wagon, my clutch got stuck fully depressed going up a hill in heavy traffic. I thought that either my clutch cable had broke or that my clutch fork had bent. Was able to use my toes to pull the clutch up and resume driving - slowly and with a minimum amount of shifting. On the way home last night, I again carefully drove hoping to make it back without further problems, but it got stuck again and I realized it was the plastic trim - the piece has fingers for the clutch and brake pedals and had shifted just enough to catch the clutch pedal arm and block it from the return position. I tore it off and continued the drive home without further problems. Will be taking that piece off on my other gl. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Never put it back on my dad's after I replaced the clutch cable, and the one in mine was for an automatic, so... it didn't fit. Glad it didn't actually cause an accident.
