Dickensheets Posted February 7, 2012 Share Posted February 7, 2012 P0420, 2007 FRSTR 65,000 miles (Wifey's kid hauler). I'm chasing the code and was wondering if anyone has tried cleaning their CAT with agressive use of chemicals? IE lacquer thinner, or by removing and physically cleaning. Dickensheets Posted February 7, 2012 Author Share Posted February 7, 2012 Well it's just a CEL and nothing else. But I gotta fix it because in these a CEL disables the cruise control. If you are gonna try anything for "catalyst below effeciency" I've had success with Seafoam through a vacuum line. Makes TONS of white smoke though. Run about 8oz through it, and stall it with the last ounce (or have someone shut the car off) Let it sit for 30 minutes, then flog the ever loving crap out of it. Our friendly government requires it I believe, because the know individuals are say 93% more likely to not get it fixed or try to circumvent it if they have to pay for it out of their own pocket.
