MilesFox
I hope by checking the obvious tings, that you made sure the coolant is not low. Low coolant will not flow into the heater core. Make sure to get any air bubbles out if this is the case. Feel the heater hoses on the firewall side to see if they are warm. If they are warm, then check the flapper and the heat selector. naru
For an ea-81,feel temp of the coolant lines on the heater core side of the water control valve near the throttle pedal. Don`t bother feeling the lines in the engine compartment as the valve circulates coolant even when it cuts flow to the heater core.
lilredjusty88
what exactly controls this valve, electric or vaccum? oddly enough it puts off just a HINT of warmth occasionally, not sure if that will help at all.
AKghandi
Do you have the ducting from the blower to the heater box connected? If so is the blower working? Then look under the drivers side dash at the actuators for the heater box have someone move the controls and see what happens. There is a set of cogs that move with the controls sometimes they like to skip a few teeth and you won't get heat anymore.(this is from an ea82 not sure about the ea81 I'll have to look at my hatchie, but I bet it's the same setup)

It is cable controlled from the dash temp control.
