l75eya
A spin-off from the controversial complaining about my rear ride height while parking thread. Photographic evidence of pain-in-the a** spots.

Dj7291993
Well, I can't really complain about parking in Colorado Springs. It is nice in the winter, though, as the snow plows always reserve the close spots for Subarus and other SUVs. The only place here you have to parallel park is downtown, which, for the size of the city, is tiny... and has garages. Denver is harder, but nothing like that. MilesFox
I have parked parallel with trailers and tow dollies. I can park a 26ft u-haul the same. I park my motorcycle downtown perpendicular to the meter, and i am not subject to pay for the meter because it leaves the spot for the meter open. I have gotten away with it each time. the scooter i can park on the sidewalk same as any bicycle. I park in snow mounds left in mall type parking, spots where people are too afraid to park where it would be an open spot if the snow pile was not there. I have parked my truck in a loading dock after hours for fine dining down town. Having owned a u-haul, i could get away in a few places that would otherwise be no parking. At the end of the month you will find a u-haul on about every block (college rental flats in my neighborhood)

l75eya
I will not let it die! This was just yesterday. Because of the accident and the bumper being all mangled, it looks like it's touching, but there is about half an inch of gap space.
AKghandi
I'm glad I live where I live and not where you live. I haven't had to parallel park since my driving test. Not thats it's that difficult in a Subaru there's just way better places to park........like on top of a silly ricers Honda..
987687
GLs have much better turning radius than does a Legacy. Trying to park that beast pisses me off.

It's not in Maine either... they call it "offset backing" to avoid scaring people When I got my CDL they called it parallel parking though. sucks in a truck... dhise
One of the nice features about the ea82 era is the tight turning radius. Someone down the street from me was throwing a party and I was blocked in with about a foot on each end to give. Jumped in the car and bump...bump...bump.....bump....bump....bump and I'm out! To me that sounds like you were doing bumper cars
Fairtax4me
Bumper cars is the only answer sometimes. Kinda nice to leave a little chip scrape or gash in the bastards car while you're at it. Imagine playing bumper cars in a Chevy Caprice. You can do some real damage with big steel chrome bumpers! I used to push Volvo and Lexus Suvs out of my way on a weekly basis. That kinda talk got me into a bit of a stewing pot on this board at one time. Which is what lead to this thread actually lol. Trying to illustrate just how difficult parking is round these here parts And yes, really do wish parking wasn't as difficult in this area, but I tell you what, these cars are awesome to parallel park.
