Naked Buell
Hey Bros. So I have an Ea 81 and have stripped just about all the emissions crap off the engine. But one thing I was wondering about was there are two pipes, one off each side, that come from the exhaust manifold and come up to some kind of junction and goes to the air filter. Do I need those stupid things??? I'm thinking not. Any ideas???? thx
rxleone
It's just a duct for hot air, on your airbox they'll be a little lever you can change that pulls air from that pipe. Handy when you have very cold weather, but pretty useless otherwise.
MilesFox
Ditch them and fold over the steel line. You can remove the iron ports form the heads, but you will need an ea82 y-pipe to clear the framerail. You can leave them there if they are working. If it is popping or backfiring you can "tape a quarter" to it, search that term.
