NocturneVoyager
I can't believe it took me five years to replace my wiper blade, and in the end, if I would have looked at the mounting for it closer, I probably could have fixed it a lot sooner. I was concentrating at the point where the blade sits on the pivot, and it looks like it's pop-riveted together. Well, come to find out, that's not where you take it off - it's the two screws on the arm that hold the whole thing on. Tricky part? Where to find a replacement bayonet-style blade replacement. Turns out in this neck of the woods, there is only one place - the Subaru parts place, and it still had to be ordered in, but.........$24.95 later, and I at last have a brand-spanking-new wiper blade to wipe the rain away while driving in the rain! The old one still worked - just nowhere near as well. Glad the search is over. Like I said........a SMALL victory.......but one nonetheless. gl kool
Haha you where more successful than me! My driver side wiper would sit just barely above the window making it ineffective, it would just kind of smear the water around. One day i decided i wasnt too lazy to fix it. At first it seemed like it was going to be an easy fix. It was just loose at the base of the wiper so try to tighten it on the stud, the nut doesn't move, so i try to back it off. After some muscle it breaks free and I can adjust the wiper where I want. Then naturally Get the nut back on and tighten it until its nice and snug *** *** *** ***but the wiper is still loose. I try a few more times and still loose, at this point I'm starting to get mad but I decide to try one more time but this time I was really gonna be a macho man and tighten 'er down. And swear not even a quarter turn after it's snug i hear the dreaded POP and my wrench came free I knew had I just broke the mounting stud in the bolt. But lucky for me I just adjusted the passenger wiper to cover the whole window (carefully as to not break this one too!) and it actually worked better than be for so moral of the story is, one good wiper is better than one good one and a really ************ty one haha and you fix something by breaking it... l75eya
To add on topic, my wipers are horrible. Can't wait to get that sorted out. I have to peek around the windshield while driving in rain to find the spots I can see through haha.
