Greetings all. My first post.

I have a 2000 Legacy Wagon. Looks Like I need a new oil pan. I was wondering if any folks have had luck with the Dorman/Spectra replacement oil pans or is better to get on OEM oil pan.

Any thoughts, advice or tips appreciated.

Here was message about the Spectra Oil Pan I yanked. Was kinda hoping to avoid this experience...

Comments about Spectra Premium Oil Pan:

You have to lift the engine, re-drill frame or remove cross-member in order to get to rear 2 bolts on Subaru's. The pan itself seems to be solid build "Made in Canada" with a durable high-temp paint coating only on the outside (assuming so paint chips don't end up in oil). Pan does line up to the mounting screws properly but still somehow you end up with the dip stick tube off to side and giving difficulty to reconnect the dipstick to pan. I couldn't get it in quite the way it should been. Drain plug hole size in NON-OEM size so any original quick-drain valves you might have installed can't be reused. You will just have to use drain plug that comes with the pan from this point on. Overall solid build pan made from thick stamped metal sheet.
