Some people get to have all the fun. Righteous build dude! Those wheels will look amazing!

thank you ! this is all the fun i got really but its fun when its all done and i guess fun building it to. love driving it more then building it.

Meh, those wheels are ok.  I think you should import another 4 sets of "optional" wheels so we can help you decide.

Totally kidding, those last ones are the best so far.

LOL is that a dare ???.... one more set i need those sub zero rs ones now those are rare now days and should fit perfect on the car.

but i found something very new last night playing with rear control arms on the gl-10 !! i can wait for the car to come out now, people are going to love this mod if it really works for me..

lets just say i put those 17x8.5 235/40/17 wheels on and they fit perfect which means anything we can run on the old car, so excited to show this if it works on the real car !!

so this is a rear 1986 Subaru control arm, when adding wide wheels with low offsets like Subaru loves it can rub on the rear arm on this old car.

here you can see how much room i have to play if I put on a 17x7.5JJ ET53 stock subaru wheels that can fit Brembo brakes, also the front is not like this its normal Subaru style up front on this car so any wheel is ok

8510580994_00f26d6450_b.jpg

so what have I come up with ! simple easy is flip the arm around to the other side ! looks like the little Leone can put the rubber down to the ground now, 225/45/17 and i could use STi Brembo brakes now for the extra stopping power.

8510582366_b438c08ab2_b.jpg

Hey !!!!!  why stop there ???? Lol... lets pull out a STi 22B BBS wheel and see if we can add the monster wheels on the Leone so 235/40/17 17x8.5JJ ET48  even fits !!  guess its time to show some people how its done on the track this year !

now i am really excited to pull the car out and see if this all works out perfect.

I never actually had issues with the trailing arm. My 225s rubbed on the shock body, and my 17x8 +48s occasionally rubbed on the fender

Also, are you planning on making a spacer for the other end of that piece? That would definitely be necessary to maintain the correct alignment.

It's a sweet idea for sure, but I'm a little skeptical how it will work out in practice.

Isn't that bushing location off center now though?  Are you going to cut the sleeve out and re-weld it in or what?  I am curious as well.

I guess it wouldn't be me if I posted and didn't mention wheels.  But I still think those 22B's would look better on a Legacy GT?!??

hmmmm what brakes and backing plates are you using ? my 16x7 et53 have about 1 inch and half of space... but the 17 are way to close.. i think maybe my et53 offset is to much

a spacer if i take the nuts off ? i was just going to use longer bolts and nuts flip the arm and push out the bearing and flip that the other way also.

i want to get the car out and try it all so will see once i pull it out right now just a quick idea i had...... and now that you said the shock i think your right i will be hitting the shock on those huge 22B wheels..

1cm or 10mm thick ....  other spec i need to push out spindle from bearing so i need time.

it looks off center but i was thinking of pushing it out and flipping that also, i try not to cut and weld to much i am more a mixing and matching person first then cut and weld lol

i dont think the 22B wheels will fit like Numbchux said his rubbed on the shock, sure looks like these wheels will to !   so maybe we can put them on your legacy hehe

The 225s I ran were on WRX 16x6.5 wheels, +53 IIRC. Most of the time I ran 215/45r17s on 17x8 +48s, which were Ok most of the time, but would rub on the fenders if overloaded (and my rear fenders were rolled flat).

The hub is what locates the wheel in the fender well...so it doesn't matter. But I was running XT6 backing plates and caliper brackets and 200SX calipers

.... I have said it before and I'll say it again... best subaru ever.   have you thought about contacting any car magazines or shows?

I personally like TUNED on the "drive" channel on youtube

just an example, but still a pretty cool car.

Hey Nico - I got some wheels!!!!

http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/used-rims-5zigen-gn-pro-racer-take-look-them-and-204181.html

LOL

Still want yours though.

Now back to your thread.  What is the "air port" fitting you speak of on the turbo?  What are the numeric marks for?

those look sweet nice work you did to them ! there huge also lol 18x8.5 is really wide, wish i could use that stuff !

air port is for vac line on the turbo, numbers marks i have no clue but that is where i put the port lol.

i sold my wheels to a guy with the same style wagon as you, he is on the legacy board he showed me pics and i miss them but they look really freaking good on that body style !

well today was a perfect day to pull it out and start the work on the car, lots of rain wash the salt away so why not bring the car home.

my new black wheels that are so black i cant get a good pic of them lol

GC8 VOLK Rays STi 5x100 16x7 ET 53   with the proper stickers for how ever long they last lol.

also i was going to use these on my Legacy EG33 build, but ill use them here first. Whitline KSB751 will reduce rear-end float particularly under acceleration... why not fits like a glove lol

made for the new style subaru 1989 to 2007, subaru sure does love re using something that works well over many years.

Nice up skirt shot, that sway bar looks pretty beefy.

Its been said over and over, but amazing build.

the xt6 sway bar is pretty cool since its oem 20mm back in the day old school

All i have to say is... Damn.

lol thanks

well the new BW s300sx FMW fits and is in, along with the JDM STi magnesium valve covers.

also had to take the timing belt off and pulleys so I could get to the oil feed line for the AVCS and get the screens out !.. pain in the butt but i had to get it done.

good thing I have room still for the 4" cone aem filter and set up for this turbo.

I had also changed the vacuum lines for the dual wastegates to hi temp silicone to handle the heat stress in that area.

just need to wait for the turbo pipe I ordered so I can complete it all.
