So I drilled out my wholes for the ej swap. Getting ready to resurface it. Should I balence it too while I'm at it? The holes arnt perfect but work.

I tryed with a drill bit and didn't work, so I used a egg dermal bit in the drill press that worked really nice.

So balence The flywheel?

Thanks.

Can't hurt. But I never balanced the ones that I've done and haven't had any vibration issues.

Yeah the guy wants 40$ so it's not to bad but if I don't have to that's save me 40$. And seeing as the holes are being drilled outward away from the original holes, the fource should be the same. If you know what I mean. Lol.

The hole pattern is very close to the center of rotation. The closer you are to the axis of rotation the less any modifications to the material will matter as far as balancing. Think of the boundery condition - you can add and subract as much weight as you want at the exact center and it will never change the balance.

In practice the changes made for an EJ swap flywheel are close enough to the center and small enough that they don't matter. Don't bother balancing it.
