lizcreech
I am new to this forum and don't know all the abbreviated language so bear with me. I have a 2002 Subaru Forester, automatic, and my transmission is starting to slip - it is gonna have to be replaced eventually. I am trying to find the least expensive way to get this done and I am hoping I can find a cheap transmission. Does anyone know if any other year and make of Subaru transmission will actually fit into my car without a lot of fuss? I appreciate the help. ivans imports
you need to know ratios yours should be 4.44 and have a screwon oil fillter on side if you take the # off the trany and give it to the dealer they can tell you the ratio thats the only differance ive seen some are 3.90 and 4.11 but you could change the rear diff to match but the electronics are all the same 99-
Fairtax4me
Right you have to match up the final drive ratio. Other than that 99-03 is a safe year range for a donor.
